INJECTION MOLDING
From CAD mold design to production-ready tooling.
For injection-molded eyewear projects, the process starts with a computer-designed mold drawing, continues through mold making and trial review, and then moves into production using the approved tooling. PC, CP and TR90 material directions can be discussed for the selected design.

PROJECT INPUTS
Turn the frame design into a repeatable molding route.
- CAD mold and tooling design
- Mold making and trial sample review
- PC, CP and TR90 material directions
- Approved mold used for production setup
Create the CAD mold drawing
The proposed frame geometry is translated into a computer-designed mold layout. Parting lines, cavities, gates, pins and other tooling details are reviewed around the selected component.
Make and review the mold
After the mold design is confirmed, the tooling is manufactured and prepared for trial production. The sample helps review dimensions, fit, surface appearance and open technical questions.
Choose the material route
PC, CP and TR90 can be considered for the selected injection-molded component. Material suitability, color, construction and finishing requirements are confirmed for each design.
Move the approved tool into production
Once the mold and sample meet the agreed requirements, the approved tooling can be used for production. Quantity, revisions, inspection, timing and commercial terms remain project-specific.
Place injection molding in the wider project
Compare molding with the sheet-based TR90 film-insert route when evaluating color and development risk.
Then align the tooling, branding and order scope through the OEM and private label process.

BUYER QUESTIONS
Questions about eyewear injection molding.
Need an answer for a specific design?
Ask our team ↗
Which materials can be injection molded?
PC, CP and TR90 material directions can be discussed for the selected eyewear component. The final material and construction are confirmed per project.
What happens before production?
The process typically moves from CAD mold design to mold making, trial sampling and review of dimensions, fit, appearance and open technical questions.
Can the same mold be used for every design?
No. Tooling is designed around the selected geometry and component. Any new design or major revision may require a new tooling review.
What should I send for an injection molding inquiry?
Send a CAD file, drawing or reference frame together with the material direction, quantity, colors, target market and any testing or inspection requirements.
